Write a 250-word or more critical reflection post for each novel. In the posts share your thoughts/observations about the novel by addressing one or more of the listed questions for consideration, or one of the terms, themes, or concepts related to the overall Purposeful Pairing theme the individual novel and/or critical essay that may or may not be associated with one or more of the listed questions for consideration. Of course, you may see a theme that I did not identify. You must support your thoughts/observations with direct reference to the novel and critical essay. (Each post is worth 50 points) Questions for consideration in your reading of each novel: What are your thoughts about the pairing? What is the historical significance of the setting (time period, place/location, and space/community as defined by the author) of the novel? What is the state of racial and gender politics in the novel? What class politics are at play in the novel? How does each woman experience them differently? Why? How does each woman experience intersectional oppression? How are the women individually impacted by the historical stereotypes (also referred to as controlling images) that were created to oppress Black women? What are the dynamics of the women’s interaction with the same man in the novel? Why? What literary device(s) do the author use to help us to better understand the individual women and/or their experience; the dynamics that impact the paring; the time/space/place: or anything you see important to your reading of the novel? What do you see that fits the Purposeful Pairing theme that I have not mentioned To meet the objectives of this module, make sure you complete all the following tasks and assignments.
